Ambeo releases third generation NetServer™ Appliance

Ambeo is pleased to announce the immediate availability of their third-generation NetServer Appliance, the NetServer-3. The Ambeo NetServer is a network appliance that can monitor multiple databases and DBMS types simultaneously, providing both real-time monitoring and long-term tracking of end user interactions with these databases.

The Ambeo NetServer-3 is pre-configured and optimized to run Ambeo’s Usage Tracker™ and Activity Tracker™ software for tracking end user database usage and monitoring query performance. These are the first NetServers to ship with Version 3 of Ambeo’s software suite, which provides many new benefits including:

 Faster Activity Tracker real-time monitoring and playback
 Faster and more flexible Usage Tracker reporting
 Enhanced Usage Tracker identification of tables and columns accessed through views and        procedures
 Embedded Usage Tracker database for completely self-contained operation


The NetServer-3 Appliance is a rack mountable device that provides a True Zero Overhead™ solution for database usage tracking. NetServers monitor end user interactions with the database by listening to all network traffic inbound/outbound to and from a database server. They provide several benefits over software-only deployments, including:

  Ambeo software is offloaded from more expensive hardware platforms
 Pre-configured, optimized and certified to run Ambeo software at maximum efficiency
 Easy installation and setup
 Easy management of Ambeo software through a browser-based management console


Supported database environments include Oracle, DB2/UDB, Teradata, Informix, Sybase ASE and MS SQL Server.

The NetServer-3 Appliance is GA. Pricing is dependent on configuration.
